Workers’ agitation halts Natore Pran factory production

Natore: The authorities suspended production at a factory of Pran-RFL Group at Ekdala in Natore town on Thursday morning following the workers’ agitation for increase in their wages, reports UNB.
Police and factory officials said workers of Pran Agro Ltd launched a movement on the factory premises in the morning to push for their demand for wage hike.
Following this, the factory authorities informed police.
When police rushed in, the agitating workers started pelting the law enforcers with brick chips, leaving a policeman injured.
Earlier, the workers staged a demonstration on the factory premises on Wednesday evening on the same demand.
Later, a clash ensued between the workers and police when the law enforcers tried to disperse the workers, leaving some of them injured.
The agitating workers also carried out vandalism in the factory.
Later, the factory authorities quelled the workers by assuring them of meeting their demand.
