Dhaka: People from all walks of life paid their last tributes to prominent film director and actor Amjad Hossain at the central Shaheed Minar on Saturday by placing wreaths.

Directors’ Guild, Directors Association, Dhaka University, Bangla Academy and many film related organizations paid their respects to the noted film director.

Cultural personalities and activists converged on the area to say good bye to Amjad Hossian.

Sohel Arman, son of the late filmmaker, said that they are happy that  their father got proper treatment and assistance from the government when needed.

The body of Amjad Hossain was brought back home from Bangkok on Friday evening.

It will then be taken to ATN Bangla office, Bangladesh Film Development Corporation and Channel I office.

He will be laid to rest at his village home in Jamalpur as he wished before the death.
