Two gunrunners held in Dhaka
Dhaka: The Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested two suspected gun-runners and seized two foreign pistols, two magazines and 18 rounds of bullets from their possession.
They were detained at Dhaka’s Badda on Thursday evening, reported UNB.
A DB team, led by its Assistant Commissioner Obaidul Hoque, conducted a drive in the area at about 6:20 pm and arrested the two illegal firearms traders identified as Ujjal Hossain and Abdur Rajjak also known as Babu, according to DB headquarters.
The detectives also recovered the two firearms and the ammunitions from their possessions, said Deputy Commissioner (Media) of DMP Maruf Hossain Sarder.
During preliminary interrogation, the arrested revealed that they had been involved in selling and buying illegal firearms in the city’s different areas for long.
A case was filed with Badda police in this connection.
