Bhutanese PM greets Sheikh Hasina

Dhaka: Bhutanese Prime Minister Lotay Tshering on Monday phoned Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and congratulated her as her party secured absolute majority in the parliamentary elections.
The Bhutanese premier phoned Awami League President Sheikh Hasina around 1:30 pm and congratulated her, her party and the people of Bangladesh on securing her party’s absolute majority in Sunday’s national election, said PM’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim, reports the UNB.
During the conversation, he said, the two leaders hoped that the friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries will be strengthened further in the days to come.
Hasina extended greetings to the Bhutanese King and the Royal family through the Bhutanese premier, the press secretary said.
