35 more ministries, departments signed APA

Dhaka: Bangladesh government signed the Annual Performance Agreement (APA) with officers and employees working for 35 ministries and departments to enhance their work skill and accountability.
Cabinet secretary Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan signed the deed on behalf of the government at a cabinet meeting presided over by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at the Secretariat in Dhaka on Monday.
Representatives from 35 ministries and departments signed the memorandum on behalf of the staff.
Government also adopted a new mechanism, Government Performance Management System, to successfully implement the agreement.
Earlier, in 23 February, secretaries of 10 ministries and departments signed the memorandum on behalf of their ministers.
The cabinet informs that each year a monitoring team headed by a cabinet secretary (coordinate and reform) will be formed. If any public officer and employee show any negligence to his/her duty, the committee would take actions against him/her, added the cabinet secretary.
Finance Ministry, Religions Affairs Ministry and Statistic Bureau are likely to reach the agreement.
