Juba League leader hacked dead in Meherpur

Meherpur: A local Juba League (JL) leader was hacked to death by miscreants at Nishipur village in Gangni upazila of Meherpur on early Saturday, reports UNB.
Quoting family members, Gangni police officer-in-Charge Mokter Hossain said a group of unidentified people called Shukur Ali, 48, former publicity secretary of Bamundi union unit of Juba League and son of Daud Hossain, out of their house on Friday night and hacked him indiscriminately, leaving him dead on the spot.
Later, they left the body in a pond beside Shukur’s house.
Locals found the body floating in the pond next morning and informed police.
Police recovered the body and sent it to Meherpur General Hospital for an autopsy.
