62 held in DMP anti-drug drives

Dhaka: Sixty-two people were arrested in the capital by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police for selling and consuming drugs.
They were apprehended between 6am Friday and 6am Saturday, during the DMP’s special anti-narcotics drives, reports the UNB.
DMP Detective Branch and local thana police conducted separate drives from Friday.
Forty-two cases were filed under the Narcotics Control Act with different police stations during this time, said DMP Deputy Commissioner (Media) Masudur Rahman.
The law enforcers recovered 1,497 yaba pills, 316 grams heroin, 135 bottles of phensedyl, 192 beer cans and 24 injections.
