Bagerhat: Three people were killed and 20 others injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a truck on Khulna-Mawa Highway in Fakirhat Upazila on Tuesday.

One of the deceased was identified as Kamruzzaman, 32, the truck driver and son of Samsuzzaman of Satkhira district while the identities of the others could not be known yet, reports the UNB.

Moloy Roy, sub-inspector of Katakhali Highway Police outpost, said the accident took place around noon when the Dhaka-bound bus of ‘Tungipara Express’ collided head-on with a truck coming from the opposite direction, leaving three people dead on the spot and 20 others injured.

Of the injured, five were taken to Khulna Medical College Hospital.
