Four ‘JMB members’ held in Mymensingh

Mymensingh: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested four suspected members of banned militant outfit Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) from Bidyaganj Railway Station in Sadar upazila on Wednesday night.

The arrestees are identified as Shahin Islam alias Mahbub Alam, 22, son of Raihan Mandal of Chuadanga district, Siam Al Mahmud, 19, son of Mohammad Arif of Sadar upazila in the district, Nasrin Akter, 21, daughter of Abdur Rahman of Sylhet district and Shakhawat Karim, 36, son of Khairul Islam of Chattogram district, reports the UNB.

Tipped off, a team of Rab-14 conducted a drive in the area and arrested them, Lieutenant Colonel Eftekhar Uddin, commanding officer of Rab-14, said at a press briefing at its office on Thursday.

All of them were active members of the banned militant outfit, he added.

The elite force members also recovered seven Jihadi books from their possession.
