Cox’s Bazar: A man, accused in several cases, was killed in a reported gunfight between two gangs in the hilly area of Shaplar Ful Union of Maheshkhali Upazila early Tuesday.

Police identified the deceased as Shahabuddin, 25, son of Abdur Rahim, resident of Nunchhari village in Kolmarchhora Union, reports the UNB.

A police team went to the area in the morning after learning about the gunfight and recovered the body, said Probash Chandra Dhar, officer-in-charge of Maheshkhali Police Station.

Four firearms were also recovered from the site of the gunfight, he said.

Shahabuddin was accused in a number of criminal cases, the OC added.
