Dhaka: Police recovered the hanging body of a college student from Khalpar area in Keraniganj upazila of the city early Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Mahmud Hasan, 22, a third year student of History department of Kabi Nazrul Government College, reports the UNB.

Victim’s elder brother Mehedi Hasan said Mahmud used to work in a jewelry shop as a part time worker. He rented out a house in the area five days back telling the owner that he would stay there with his friend.

The reason behind his death is not clear, he added.

On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Mitford  Hospital morgue for autopsy, said Sub-inspector of Keraniganj Model Police Station Md Shah Alam.

An un-natural death case was filed with the police station.
