Dhaka: Some politicians had assisted the persons who were behind the 1/11 political changeover in Bangladesh, Road Transports and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said on Tuesday.

He also said if the country’s politics is on the right track and political leaders maintain honesty, the conspiracies of evil forces would never be successful, reported UNB.

‘The main target of 1/11 was de-politicisation. At that time, many big leaders held meetings with the officials of military intelligence hours after hours and assisted them.’ the minister, also the presidium member of the ruling Awami League, said while addressing a discussion at Kobi Sufia Kamal Auditorium of National Museum in the Dhaka.

Amra Surjamukhi arranged the discussion, titled ‘The political philosophy of Bangabandhu: Development of the country and mass people’, marking the birth anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Quader observed that the political leaders who had assisted the players of 1/11 political changeover, should repent confessing to their faults.
