Chittagong: A man allegedly killed his wife and her maternal uncle at Yakubnagar under Kotwali Police Station in the port city on Tuesday night over ‘extramarital affair’, reports UNB.

The victims are Asma Begum, 25, wife of Hridoy, and her uncle Maksudur Rahman, 35, son of Ruhul Amin of the city's Alim Dobhash Colony.

Chittagong Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner (South) Mizanur Rahman Khan said Hridoy killed the two over their extramarital affair.

He said they came to know that Asma developed an extramarital affair with her aunt's husband Maksud when Hridoy was in Malaysia. Hridoy returned home a few days back.

The police officer said Hridoy turned furious as Maksud's son informed him in the evening about the illicit relation between his father and Asma.

He hurriedly went to his house and strangled Asma.

Later, he attacked Maksud with a knife at a tea stall near his residence and hacked him indiscriminately, killing him on the spot.

Mizanur Rahman said they are yet to arrest Hridoy as he went into hiding after the incident.
