Over 100 Yaba traders surrender to police in Cox’s Bazar

Cox’s Bazar: Over 100 Yaba traders, including 10 relatives of former MP Abdur Rahman Bodi, who have been kept at a police safe house, formally surrendered to police on Saturday.
The surrender programme began at Pilot High School ground in Teknaf at 11am in presence of Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan as the chief guest while Inspector General of Police Dr Javed Patwary as a special guest, reports the UNB.
A total 102 Yaba traders surrendered to police and deposited 3.50 lakh Yaba tablets and 30 firearms.
Around 44 people were killed in gunfights with law enforcers or rivals in the district since the crackdown against drugs began on May 15 last. Of them, 40 were killed in Teknaf alone.
