Dhaka: Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud on Tuesday suggested the BNP to go to the public as the people are the owners of the country, reports the UNB.

‘Whenever something happens in the country, the BNP goes to foreigners. Their activities humiliate the country,’ he told reporters at a views exchange meeting with Bangladesh Climate Change Journalist’s Forum (BCJF) at the Secretariat.

‘BNP’s frequent meetings with foreign diplomats show their political bankruptcy,’ he said.

The minister said the Jatiya Oikyafront’s public hearing was ‘a staged play’ to deceive the people.

He also spoke about climate change, saying that Bangladesh has taken steps to curb carbon emission. ‘Bangladesh is showing the world how to tackle climate change,’ he said.

Terming Bangladesh as the most vulnerable country to the impacts of climate change, he said the worst affected countries will be benefited after the implementation of the Paris agreement.

BCJF President Kawsar Ahmed presided over the meeting. Its General Secretary Motahar Hossain and Joint General Secretary Masudul Hoque addressed the meeting, among others.
