Miscreants looted Tk 1.84 crore from an ATM booth of Dutch-Bangla Bank adjacent to Apex Footwear factory in Shafipur area of Kaliakoir upazila on early Thursday.

Some employees ‘Money Plant’ company, which reloads the ATM booths of DBBL with money, came to the booth in a microbus around 3am to reload the booth with cash, said Kaliakoir Police officer-in-charge Abdul Motaleb.

While they were unloading trunks loaded with cash from the microbus, the miscreants numbering 7/8 attacked them and snatched away two trunks.

Masud Rana, executive director of Dutch-Bangla Bank, filed a case in this connection with the police station in the morning.

Three employees of the company — Khelafat Hossain, 40, Ziaur Rahman , 35, and Sheikh Shajahan, 32, were injured as they tried to resist the miscreants.
