Chattogram: Police arrested two people and seized huge VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) equipment from their possession in Paschim Madarbari area in the port city on Tuesday.

The arrestees Abdul Motaleb, 40, son of Abul Hashem of Madarbari area and Md Belayet Hossain, 34, son of Khujjatul Islam hailing from Syedbari area in Mirsharai upazila in the district, reports the UNB.

On information, a team of the law enforcers conducted a drive in the house at midnight and arrested the duo along with huge VoIP equipment including 705 SIMs, a GSM Gateway channel Box, routers, said Md Nezam Uddin, officer-in-charge of Sadarghat Police Station.

A case was filed under the ICT Act against them, the OC added.
