DNCC investigating Gulshan market fire
Dhaka: The authorities of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) on Saturday constituted a probe committee headed by its chief engineer to investigate the fire incident that gutted 221 shops of the DNCC kitchen market in Gulshan area.
The other members of the committee are DNCC's chief revenue officer, its law officer, property officer, executive engineer, and a representative of Fire Service and Civil Defense, reports the UNB.
Besides, the caretaker engineer (power) will be acted as the member secretary, said a press release.
The committee has been asked to submit its report within the next 5 days.
Meanwhile, State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Dr Md Enamur Rahman on Saturday announced to provide Tk 10,000 to each of the 211 shop owners and 20-kg rice to each salesman of those burned shops.
The state minister came up with the announcement while visiting the spot.
Earlier in morning, a fire gutted all the 221 shops of the market.
