Dhaka: The Metrological Department forecast rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty/squally wind throughout the country in the next 24 hours from 9:00am on Monday.

‘Rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty/squally wind is likely to occur at many places over Mymensingh, Sylhet, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal & Chattogram divisions and at a few places over Rangpur & Rajshahi divisions with hails at isolated places, ‘ the Met office said in a bulletin issued on Monday morning, reports the UNB.

Three people were killed as a nor’wester coupled with hailstorm and rain swept the capital on Sunday evening.

The tropical storm, the first of the season, hit the capital around 6:15pm on Sunday and lasted for a few minutes.

Besides, four people, including a woman and her son, died in separate incidents of boat capsize in the Buriganga River during Sunday night’s storm.
