Witness deposition resumes Apr 9

Dhaka: A special tribunal here on Wednesday fixed a new date for witness deposition in a case filed in connection with the deadliest terror attack in Bangladesh’s history.
Anti-Terrorism Special Tribunal Judge Mujibur Rahamn set April 9 after recording testimonies of Gias Uddin and Motiar Rahman, reports the uNB.
Terrorists, who carried out the attack on upscale Holey Artisan Cafe had rented Gias’ Baridhara house. Motiar, on the other hand, was the neighbour of militant Tanvir Qader.
Five armed terrorists stormed the café on July 1, 2016, and killed 22 people, mostly foreigners. The victims included two policemen, nine Italians, seven Japanese, an Indian, a Bangladeshi-born American and two Bangladeshis.
Trial in the case started with the indictment of eight suspects on November 26 last year.
The accused are - Jahangir Alam alias Rajib Gandhi, Rakibul Hasan Rigan, Rashidul Islam alias Rash,SohelMahfuz, Mizanur Rahman alias Boro Mizan, HadisurRahmanSagar, Shariful Islam and Mamunur Rashid.
