Nation celebrates Tigers’ triumph
Dhaka: The nation on Tuesday celebrated the historic victory of the Tigers in the ICC World Cup Cricket against England.
People of all tiers in the society including politicians, educationists, businessmen, sports personalities and cultural activists have congratulated the Bangladesh Cricket team for their outstanding victory.
Earlier, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina announced to celebrate the victory with jubilation as Bangladesh cricket team has entered the quarter final of the ICC World Cup Cricket defeating England by 15 runs on Monday.
Responding to this announcement, jubilant cricket fans-men and women of all ages across the country became frenzied and took to the streets on Tuesday to celebrate Bangladesh Cricket team's historic win over England.
Different socio-cultural organizations including the ruling party have flooded onto the streets, dancing, waving flags and splashing colours in celebration of the national team's historic victory.
President Abdul Hamid, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Speaker Shirin Sharmeen Chaudhury, opposition leader Rawshan Ershad and BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia issued separate statements congratulating the Bangladesh team and urged them to carry on their exploits in their next game.
