Feni: A team of Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) arrested another young man from Tulatoli area of Sonagazi upazila on Monday night in connection with the murder of Feni madrasa girl Nusrat Jahan Rafi.

The arrestee Md Shamim, 19, is a classmate of Nusrat, said PBI Inspector Shah Alam, reports the UNB.

Following information given by two accused—Shahadat Hossain Shamim and Nur Uddin—in their confessional statements before the court, the team conducted a drive and arrested Shamim, he added.

Shamim was one of the five who were staying outside the building to guard the main gate as well as to keep the situation normal, said the PBI official.

With this arrest, police have so far arrested 14 people in connection with the murder.

Nusrat, a student of Feni’s Sonagazi Islamia Senior Fazil Madrasa, was set afire on April 6 allegedly for refusing to withdraw the case against the principal.

She lost her battle five days later at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
