Dhaka: The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has banned carrying of all types of explosives and explosion of firecrackers in the capital ahead of Shab-e-Barat to be observed across the country on Sunday (tomorrow) night.

The ban was imposed under Section 28 of the DMP Ordinance III/1976, aiming to maintain sanctity of Shab-e-Barat, reports the UNB.

The restriction will remain in force from 6:00 pm on Sunday to 6:00 am on Monday, according to a media release signed by DMP Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia on Saturday afternoon.
