Gazipur: A garment factory official was found dead at his workplace in Palli Bidyut area of Kaliakoir upazila on Monday, two days after he went missing.

Police recovered the body of Dipak Saha, 30, finishing quality officer of Enter Stop Apparels Limited and son of Debaprata Saha of East Chandra in the upazila, in the evening.

Kaliakoir Police Station officer-in-charge Abdul Motaleb said Debaprata lodged a complaint with the police station mentioning that his son went to the factory on March 5 to work on the night shift but he did not return home.

Following the complaint, a police team launched a drive at the factory today evening and recovered the body of Dipak from its lift room.

Police also detained five employees of the factory, including its deputy general manager Rafiqul Islam, for interrogation, the OC added.
