‘Drug dealer’ killed in Cumilla ‘gunfight’ with BGB
Cumilla: A suspected drug dealer was killed in a reported gunfight with members of Border Guard Bangladesh near Golabari border area of Sadar upazila early Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Abdul Malek, son of Abdul Khalek, resident of Ramchandrapur village in Chouddogram upazila.
Lt Col Abu Mohhammad Mohiuddin, commanding officer of BGB-10 battalion, said that on information about a gunfight between two groups of drug dealers, a team of BGB conducted a drive in Jaluapara area.
When the BGB team reached the spot, the criminals fired shots towards the border troopers, triggering a skirmish.
‘The drug dealer’s body and 30,000 Yaba pills were recovered from the spot after the gunfight,’ he said.
