Dhaka: The hearing on BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s appeal challenging a trial court verdict that sentenced her to seven years in prison in the Zia Charitable Trust corruption case will be held Tuesday, reports the UNB.

The HC bench of Justice Obaidul Hassan and SM Kuddus Zaman fixed the date on April 23, after hearing a petition in this regard filed by Khaleda’s lawyers.

On 8 August 2011, the Anti-Corruption Commission filed the Zia Charitable Trust graft case with Tejgaon police station accusing four people, including Khaleda Zia, of abusing power in raising funds for the trust from unknown sources.
