Two buses were set afire by miscreants at Shyamoli CNG Refuelling Station in Baliarpur area of Savar on early Wednesday, hours before the Jamaat-e-Islami enforced hartal got underway.

Savar Police Station sub-inspector Farhad Hossain said unidentified miscreants torched the bus of ‘Shyamoli Paribahan’ parked in the CNG refilling station at about 1:30am. However, no casualty was reported.

Two firefighting units from Savar Fire Service Station went to the spot and doused the flame after half an hour.

Jamaat enforced the dawn-to-dusk shutdown protesting the Supreme Court’s upholding the death penalty of its leader Mir Quasem Ali in a case for his crimes against humanity during the Liberation War.
