ACC grills Nur Hossain’s wife
Dhaka: The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Wednesday interrogated Ruma Hossain, wife of the key suspect in Narayanganj seven-murder Nur Hossain, in connection with illegal wealth accumulation by her husband.
ACC deputy director Zulfiker Ali quizzed her for two hours starting from 10 am at the ACC head office, ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya said.
Earlier, on 25 February last, Zulfiker sent a notice to Ruma asking her to be present at the ACC head office to face its questioning on Wednesday.
An ACC team, led by Zulfiker Ali, visited Siddhirganj of Narayanganj district on 15 February last to find out the wealth of Nur Hossain and his wife.
In November 2015, the national graft watchdog sent a notice upon Nur Hossain seeking his wealth statement within seven days. On 13 December 2015, he submitted his wealth report to the ACC through jail authorities, mentioning his wealth worth Tk 1.78 crore.
