Gazipur: A construction worker died falling off the roof of an under-construction building at Gazipur’s Jora Pukur on Friday noon.

The deceased was Shovon, reportedly around 25 years old.

The accident took place when Shovon was working on the roof of that building which is being built by Hometouch Developer Company, reported UNB.

Later, he was taken to Shaheed Tajuddin Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead.

With the rapid urbanisation and the consequent erection of high rise buildings, deaths of construction workers are often reported across Bangladesh, especially in the major cities.

In most cases inadequate security measures and absence of modern construction technologies are blamed for such deaths.
