Dhaka: A Dhaka court on Saturday placed assistant sub-inspector of Bangshal Police Station Shamim Reza on five-day police custody in a case filed over shooting an employee of a cable TV agency.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Pranab Kumar Bhuiya passed the order after officer in-charge of Khilgoan Police Station Anwar Hossain, also investigation officer (IO) of the case, produced him before the court seeking a 10-day remand.

Nasir Uddin, general recording officer of the court, said there was no lawyer on behalf of Shamim.

Earlier, Shamim was arrested from his residence at Nandipara in the city on Friday for shooting AL Amin, an employee of a cable TV agency.

Meanwhile, the victim filed a case with the Khilgaon Police Station against Shamim in the afternoon.
