No place for militancy in Islam: home minister
Pirojpur: Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal on Saturday said Islam is a religion of peace and there is no place for militancy in Islam.
‘An ill force is hatching conspiracy to foil the country’s development and to help rising militancy by misinterpreting Islam among common people,’ he came up with the observation while addressing annual prayer session at Sarupkathi Chhardchhina Darbar Sharif and Madrasa in Pirojpur.
The minister called upon all Muslims to remain alert so that none can unstable the country spreading propaganda about Islam.
‘Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman founded Islamic Foundation, Madrasa Education Board and a large number of mosques and seminaries after the Liberation War,’ he said.
Asaduzzaman also said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, worthy daughter of Bangabandhu, has been working relentlessly to promote all forms of education through utilizing Information and Communication technology (ICT) following her father’s ideals.
Among others, local lawmakers AKMA Awal and AKM Jahangir Hossain and Peer of the Darbar Sharif Moulana Shah Muhammad Mohebullah spoke the occasion.
