Dhaka: Various socio-cultural and political organisations observed the Raju Day on Sunday, commemorating the 24^th martyrdom of Moin Hossain Raju, a former student of Dhaka University.

Raju Smrity Sangsad, Bangladesh Student’s Union, Samajtantrik Chhatra Front and some left-leaning student groups took various programmes to mark the day on the Dhaka University Campus.

They placed wreaths at the foot of Raju Sculpture in front of the Teacher-Student Centre (TSC) in the morning and held a discussion and cultural programme there marking the day.

Moin Hossain Raju, a student of the Department of Soil, Water & Environment of Dhaka University, was shot to death by some miscreants during a political clash between the activists Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) and Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) on March 13, 1992.
