Police to quiz 5 suspected JMB men
Dhaka: A court in Dhaka on Monday gave police permission to interrogate five suspected members of banned militant outfit Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), who were arrested on Sunday night, for five days.
Metropolitan Magistrate Pranab Kumar Bhuiyan passed the order when officer-in-charge of Jatrabari Police Rahat Khan, also the investigation officer of a case filed against them, produced the arrested suspects before the court and sought to quiz them for 10 days, reported UNB.
Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) in a drive arrested the five suspected JMB members along with huge bombs and explosives from the city’s Matuail area on Sunday night.
One of the arrestees was identified as Huzaifa Akand, ameer of Mymensingh district unit of JMB.
The elite force filed a case under the Anti-terrorism Act with the police station in this connection.
