Dhaka: Finance Minister AMA Muhith will brief media on the cyber theft of Bangladesh Bank funds at about 2:30pm on Tuesday, said senior information officer of Finance Ministry, Mohammad Shahidur Rahman.  

Earlier, the meeting was set to hold at about 11:00am.

Shahidur Rahman said the minister entered into the secretariate at about 10:30am.

However, the press meet will be started at 2:30pm instead of 11:00am at the Finance Ministry.

The press conference was called against the backdrop of the recent theft of $101 million by hackers from Bangladesh Bank (BB) account at New York Federal Reserve Bank.

BB also called an emergency board meeting to have discussion this issue. But the meeting was postponed for unknown reason.
