Satkhira: A man was killed as motorcycle slammed into a covered van at Satkhira on Wednesday morning.

The deceased Nahiduzzaman, 25, an army member, is a resident of Kushlia village of Kaliganj upazila. He was posted in Jessore Cantonment.
Nahid’s cousin Gazi Abu Anis was also critically injured in the accident. 

Police and local people said a covered van collided head-on with a motorcycle at Sangita intersection at about 8:00pm and left Nahiduzzaman and Anis, who were on the motorcycle, critically injured. They were taken to Satkhira District Hospital. Nahiduzzaman died undergoing treatment at the hospital.
Sadar police officer-in-charge Emdadul Haque Shiekh said agitated people vandalised the covered van. Later police seized the covered van.

Satkhira District Hospital doctor Azmal Hossain said Abu Anis is in critical condition.
