Narayanganj: A man was hacked to death as a group of miscreants attempted to kidnap his daughter from her wedding function at Pagla area of Narayanganj in the early hours of Wednesday.

Police detained seven people for their alleged involvement in this connection.

The Fatulla police officer-in-charge Asaduzzaman said a gang of around 15 miscreants tried to kidnap daughter of Paresh Chandra from her marriage ceremony at about 12:00 midnight in Pagla.

Miscreants hacked Paresh as he tried to resist them from abducting his daughter.

Later, local people came and rescued the bride.
