Dhaka: Muggers shot an agent of money transfer service Bkash and looted Tk 45,000 at North Badda in Dhaka on Sunday.

Two armed muggers intercepted Bkash agent Mahbub Hossain, 30, near a mosque at about 11:30am and tried to snatch away the money from him while he along with another official was collecting money from retail shops, said Abdul Jalil, officer-in-charge of North Badda Police Station.

Being resisted, the muggers shot Mahbub and looted the bag of the money, leaving him critically injured.

Later, he was taken to Kurmitola General Hospital where doctors declared him dead at about 12:15pm.
