Benapole: Police arrested two people along with a pistol from Noapara Nurbag area of Abhoynagar upazila in Jessore on Sunday night.

The arrestees are residents of Bicchali area of Narail district.

Quoting locals, Sheikh Nasir Uddin, officer-in-charge of Abhoynagar Police Station, said a gang of miscreants attacked a shop of local Juba-League leader Sujan Patwary in the area at about 11:00am.

Sensing the presence of the miscreants, locals surrounded them and informed police.

Later, police arrested the duo along with the pistol and four bullets from the spot while others managed to flee away.

A case was filed in this connection.
