Dhaka: The investigation agency of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) has finalised two charges of crimes against humanity against four alleged war criminals from Raznagar upazila in Moulvibazar.

Mohammad Abdul Hannan Khan, chief coordinator of the agency, said this to newsmen at a press briefing held at its Dhanmandi office on Wednesday morning.

The four accused are — Akmal Ali Talukder, 76, Abdun Nur Talukder, 62, Md Anis Miah, 76, and Abdul Mochabbir Miah, 64. Of these, only Akmal is now in police custody after getting arrested on 26 November 2015.

All the four were supporters of Muslim League in 1971 and except Akmal, all of the remaining accused are very much active in the politics of local Jamaat.

Flanked by senior coordinator Sanaul Haque and investigation officer Hari Debnath, Hannan said they would submit their investigation report to the prosecution today.

‘We initiated the probe against the accused in 12 October 2014, and wrapped up the work in one year and five months,’ said the probe body boss.

‘During our investigation, we have found evidences against the accused, relating them to monstrous crimes like genocide, murder, rape, confinement and torture,’ Hannan added.
