New flyover from Arambagh to Kadamtali: minister
Dhaka: A flyover will be constructed from Dhaka’s Arambagh area to Kadamtali in Keraniganj aiming toease traffic congestion, said Road Transport and Bridges Minster Obaidul Quader on Wednesday.
The minister said this while talking to reporters after the 8th board meeting of Dhaka Transport Coordination Authority (DTCA) at Nagar Bhaban, according to a UNB report.
Quader said the Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (Rajuk) will implement the project involving TK 2500 crore.
He said one part of the Moghbazar-Mouchak Flyover from Satrasta to Holy Family Hospital is likely to be opened on March 30 for traffic while the construction work on the rest part of the flyover will be completed by December this year.
Replying to a question, the minister said the metro-rail work will start in the last week of April this year and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the work.
Housing and Public Works Minister Engineer Mosharraf Hossain, Dhaka North and South City Corporations mayors—Annisul Huq and Sayeed Khokon—Sagufta Yasmin Emily, MP, Road Transport and Bridges Secretary MAN Siddique were, among others, present at the meeting.
