18 sued over arson attack on Jhalakati land office
Jhalakati: A case has been filed against Bangladesh Nationalist Party 18 leaders and activist in connection with the torching of a local land office in Sadar upazila on Thursday.
Badal Khalifa, sub-inspector of Jhalakati Sadar Police Station, filed the case on Thursday afternoon.
Meanwhile, police in a drive arrested four people in this connection.
The arrestees were Wares Ali Khan, chairman of Ponabalia union, his son Anisur Rahman Khan, and two UP members - Helal Mallick and Shawkat Ali Badal.
A group of miscreants torched the local land office in Ponabalia union of Sadar upazila early Thursday, on the fifth day of the 120-hour countrywide hartal enforced by the BNP-led 20-Party Alliance.
