Kishoreganj: Three members of a family were killed as a pickup van plunged into a roadside ditch at Kotiadi in Kishoreganj in the early hours of Wednesday.

The deceased are Rajib Ali, aged around 55, his wife Salma Akhter, believed to be 40 years, and their two and a half year-old daughter, Tiya.

The Kotiadi police officer-in-charge Abdus Salam said Rajib Ali along with his family was travelling to Kishoreganj from Comilla by a pick-up van. Their vehicle fell beside the road as the driver lost his control over the steering at about 12:00 midnight and left Rajib and Tiya dead on the spot.

Salma Akhter was sent to Kishoreganj District Hospital, where doctors declared her death.
