Dhaka: A suspected mugger was injured in a mob attack at KM Das Lane in Wari of the capital early Saturday.

The victim was Makbul, 45.

Local people said Makbul intercepted a fish trader and tried to snatch away money from his possession in the area at about 6:00am.

Hearing screams of the trader, local people rushed in and caught Makbul red handed and gave him a good beating, leaving him critically injured.

Later he was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Makbul was wanted in several cases filed with Wari, Sutrapur and Kotwali police stations.
