Madaripur: Local people had beaten a robber to death while robbing of an expatriate’s residence in Sadar upazila of Madaripur in the early hours of Sunday.

The landlord, Arbiz Matubbar, 30, said robbers entered into his house after cutting grills of a window at about 1:00pm.

Arbiz said that robbers also injured him and his mother after by hacking and beating them.
He claimed that the robbers looted 20bhari gold, Tk 40 thousands and other valuable stuffs.

Police claimed the deceased Selim Khan, 25, was a professional robber, also a resident Charlakshmipur village of Chhilarchar union.

Police said there are several cases including murder case against Selim.

Sadar police officer-in-charge Ziaur Morshed said the body was sent to Madaripur Sadar Hopital for autopsy.

Police also held a suspected woman in this connection.
