Dhaka: A group of miscreants identifying themselves as members of Detective Branch (DB) of police allegedly looted Tk 2 lakh from a trader in the capital’s Malibagh area on Sunday afternoon.

Victim Mazibur Rahman filed a general diary with Rampura Police in this connection, said sub-inspector of the police station Humayun.

According to the GD, Mazibur, a billboard trader, was returning to Malibagh by a rickshaw after withdrawing Tk 2 lakh from Khilgaon branch of Brac Bank at about 2:30pm.

When he reached Chowdhurypara, a group of around six miscreants coming in a microbus intercepted him.

The miscreants forcibly took Mazibur to their vehicle identifying themselves as DB men.

Later, they beat him, snatched the bag full of the money and left him over Khilgaon flyover.
