Barisal: Police in a drive arrested 14 leaders and activists of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir from a madrasah of the upazila in Barisal on Sunday evening over sabotage charges.

The arrestees include Gournadi upazila Shibir president Mohammad Sabuj Hossain Hawlader, Rangpur divisional Shibir president Azadul Islam and Patuakhali district Shibir president Bayezid Matubbar.

Being tipped off a team of police conducted drive in Kasemabad Siddiqia Kamil Madrasa of the upazila at about 7:00am while they were holding a secret meeting and arrested them, said Alauddin Milan, officer-in-charge of Gournadi Police Station.
