Dhaka: The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) on Monday arrested a project director of Rajuk (Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha) for allegedly plundering money through cheque forgery, reports UNB.

An ACC team, led by its deputy director SM Rafiqul Islam, arrested Rajuk project director SM Shafiqur Rahman from city’s Segunbagicha at about 12:00pm, ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told UNB.

In July 2015, a businessman filed a case against Shafiqur Rahman with Gulshan Police Station for allegedly swindling out Tk 4 lakh from a bank through cheque forgery.

The Commission is currently investigating the case and he has been arrested for the interest of the probe.
