2 fish traders jailed in Dhaka
Dhaka; A Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) mobile court on Monday sentenced two fish traders to one year’s imprisonment on charge of selling jatkas and contaminated shrimp in the city’s Badda area, reports UNB.
The court also destroyed around 200 kg of hilsa fries and shrimp.
Sources at the RAB headquarters said executive magistrate Md Firoz Ahmed conducted a court drive at Sattata Matsya Arat of Madhya Badda at about 12:30pm.
During the drive, the mobile court seized 100kg of jatkas and sentenced trader Md Shahjalal, 32, for one year’s simple imprisonment.
In another drive, the mobile court seized 100kg of shrimp mixed with jelly from Sonar Bangla Matsya Arat of Merul Badda and jailed trader Mejbah Miah for one year.
