Dhaka: A man was held at Dhaka Medical College Hospital while he was attempting to steal an infant on Tuesday night.

The detainee is Saizuddin Molla.

Khadizatul Kobra, the eight-month-old infant, came to the hospital with her mother as her father was admitted there.

The Shahbagh police sub-inspector Imran told NTV Online, Khadiza’s mother went to toilet leaving her to a hospital’s assistant. Saizuddin tried to snatch the child from the assistant.

Later, people from adjacent rooms rushed to the spots and held Saizuddin as the hospital assistant cried out for help.

The DMCH authorities handed him over to police.

The police said a case will be filed against Saizuddin, while Khadiza is now safe with her parents.
