Dhaka: Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) recovered 5, 80,000 pieces of Yaba tablet from Khurer Mukh area in Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar early on Wednesday, reports local news agency.

Lieutenant Colonel Abu Jar Al Zahid, commanding officer of BGB 2, said tipped off, a team of the border force conducted a raid at Baharchhara Ghat in the area and recovered 5,80,000 pieces of Yaba tablet from a boat at about 1:30am.

However, there was no arrest as the smugglers managed to escape the scene.

The market value of the seized Yaba tablets is Tk17.40 crore, said Abu Jar Al Zahid.
